Present In The Storm

In our world today, we see storm clouds all over. In the political world. In our communities. In the church. In our own homes. Sometimes it feels like we are being assaulted on every side. Sometimes those we love the most are the ones that break our hearts.

It's no secret that these things would happen. We live in a fallen and broken world. But amongst all the noise and confusion of our time, we do have hope.

That hope was provided 2,000 years ago when God sent His only Son to bear the sins of all that might believe on Him. He was written about for thousands of years to let us see how depraved humanity can get. He came in the fulness of time to provide a season of grace. However, He forewarned us before His crucifixion and departure that all of these things would take place before the Great Day of the Lord.

We have been told that man should not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. So, if this is what we are to live by, we should probably take a look at our present storms and examine them under the light and lens of Scripture.

I could insert an entire Bible Study right here! For time's sake, however, I'll just give you a few scriptures to encourage you in your trials.

Isaiah 41:10: "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you with my righteous right hand."

Psalm 34:17: "When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles."

1 Corinthians 10:13: "No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it."

Psalm 46: 10: " Be still and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations. I will be exalted in the earth."

2 Corinthians 12:9: "But He said to me, " My grace is sufficient for you, My power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me."

Matthew 10:31: "So don't be afraid, you are worth more than many sparrows."

Psalm 3:6: "I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set themselves against me round about."

2 Timothy 1:7: "For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid but gives us power love and self-discipline."

Now more than ever, Christians, we need to be sure of our faith. We need to be absolutely positive that have been walking according to God's Word. In the end, it's His Word that we will be judged by. This world has gone crazy seeking to create unity through diversity to the point of instituting laws and ordinances that go against God's Word. Churches have been compromised. Preachers have traded the truth of God for numbers and money, or fame. Our kids have been taught that all religions are the same in that they all bring the believer closer to his/ her/ they/them/their deity. None of this is new! It's what happens when humanity has reached the peak of its collective evils. Now, they're all joining forces against us. Again, this is not new! Look to God's Word. It's also documented throughout the annals of time! It has been told of old that the Lord is coming back soon. We don't know the day, the hour, but one thing is for sure, when that time comes, dear Christians, we will know!

Know that if you are His, just as He was present in the storm with His disciples and calmed the raging of the sea, He will be there alongside you. No matter the struggle. Call out to Him. Seek Him while He may be found. Keep your eyes on Jesus when everything feels stacked against you and know, He is fighting battles you know nothing about. He will never leave you, never forsake you. He loves you more than anything, and He is for you. No matter what the enemy tries to do to harm you, He will turn it around for your good, and His glory. Don't lose heart, fellow believer! He is with you.

Be blessed by being a blessing.
